As I was learning how to squat with free weights, I discovered I cannot support my weight on my left heel. There is absolutely no pain. I sprained this ankle several times. The last time was probably about 9 years ago. I went to physical therapy and thought everything was alright. I can walk, run, jump, and carry heavy things. I have been practicing walking heel to toe and walking down stairs on my heel holding the handrail. What is the probable cause of this and do you think I can learn to support weight on my heel to from physical therapy, or will it require surgery?
