When I have a patient that has a most severe case, I will put him or her in a cast or cast boot, depending on compliance. This holds the foot still so the Achilles tendon does not pull on the growth plate of the heel. It can take more than 6 weeks for this to resolve.

I am sorry I am not familiar with the Bowen therapy you described.
