Comments:: Additionally, there is a lump when palpated. : : Hi, Dr. Abrams. : : I think I may have fractured my first metatarsal near the proximal phalange. This occured by, of all things, dropping a frozen chicken breast edge-wise onto the top of my bare foot. It's been five-weeks and still painful when pressed and adducted (range of motion slightly limited). : : Is there a standard treatment? Is this something that needs casting or will it heal by not bearing weight? : : I didn't see a Doctor due to me thinking it was probably just bruised.
