My daughter has a problem, especially in winter, with her toes--especially the little toes--getting red, swollen, itchy, and then painful. She describes the pain as being as if fire ants were biting her toes. This evening when she took a shower, she came out with her little toes nearly black and very swollen. The skin is not dry, cracked, or flakey. She has very cold extremeties. Her hands and feet are like ice in the winter. Her feet are often clammy.
