Somebody once suggested Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome, but I don't know and didn't really have it checked out. Good luck finding an answer. Post back if you find anything interesting ... (Tangentially "began running about 25 miles per week" implies that you're starting from a very low amount of base miles ... that's pretty much recipe for injury. You should increase your weekly mileage no more than 10% per week ... and usually less. I'm a runner too.)
