still the ankle

My surgeon does know my plans. He was actually kind enough to work me into his surgery schedule this week. He doesn't even normally do surgery on fridays, but already had one scheduled, so why not do two:) I know I will have to do PT again and don't expect to be in full force for awhile. Of course I'm getting VERY antsy about the entire situation. (that's why I keep posting questions:) I wont be doing any major work anytime soon. Most of it starts in May, so hopefully will be better by then.

I had to register at the hospital for surgery today. They mentioned that whatever code my surgery was under, I would normally be admitted, but it was ordered as outpatient. I know you don't know all the specifics of my injury, but is this really that major of a surgery?. . to put pins in and use a bone graft? My orhto said he probably wouldn't have to use very much graft. The last thing I want is to stay in the hospital!!!

As far as insurance covering a bone stimulator, . . . well. . . . I don't really have to worry about that because I am self payer:( (naturaly I've been paying for insurance for years, and as soon as I dont have it. . . .) I'll see if I have any money left to get a stim. I've managed somehow affording all this up until I went to the hospital today and found out how much they charge. I asked my ortho if I could just get a bottle of tequila and have the procedure done in the office. . . . I'll let you come to your own conclusions of that one:)
