mortons neuroma

I have a mortons neuroma in my left foot between second and third toe.I have had 3 cortizone shots and was putting off recommended surgery, and then got a stress fracture in foot from walking differently to protect neuroma.I have read there is a new type of surgery for the neuroma.What does this involve,and what is recovery time versus old method.Any help you can be would be greatly appreciated..THANKS
