name brand vs. generic lamisil

yes i am about to begin treatment for my toenail fungal infection and i am curious about the effectiveness of generic lamisil(terbinifine). it would save me tremendously but would i be better off shelling out a few more bucks on the name brand? please let me know which is the better buy, as my infection is quite severe (4/10 toes) and spreading.
