Posterior Tibial Tendon Rupture

I have seen 2 Podiatrists for a torn posterior tibial tendon (type 2 tear) I am going in for surgery on June 10th,and was wondering what the recovery rate is approx. for this?
The doctors are doing a tendon fusion, with achilles tendon lengthening,and they're taking a piece of my heel from the anterior to put on the posterior side.
I have had tarsal tunnel release 2 yrs ago,and they're going to check for scar tissue also.
I'm just hoping i'm making the correct choice.
