I can't comment specifically as I have not examined your foot or seen x-rays. I don't quite know what you mean by a "shift." If there is adequate bone callus and the fracture union is complete then weight bearing (cautiously at first) can be attempted. There is usually a period of swelling for a time since healing is always ongoing.

You doctor who x-rayed you will know best what is right for you.
