we need a help

hello!
I would like to ask the advice of profecion.
My brother 30 y.o. had a a surgery:
Dx. Trimolleolar fracture dislocation with open wound, R ankle ( compound Fx)
The short leg cast was applied.
He couldn't press down by the R leg during 12 weeks ( now is 4 weeks after the surgery)
He needs go to job ( he can't use cratches for some reason). But i heared that exist some support for this situation ( when the pressing goes to the knee without standing on the foot)
If you can advice me, pleas , I'm waiting.
