Re: My son fractured his metatarsal

There is a secondary growth center at the base of the 5th metatarsal in children. It would not be the first time this was mistaken for a fracture. I generally x-ray both feet to compare.

I can not tell you much more without examining him. The doctor who sees him can give more information.
