Several months ago, my doctor injected the bottom of my left foot with several cortizone shots to relieve pain from several plantar lesions(I had recently had surgery to remove a plantar lesion). In a short time, the numbness spread to the top of my foot, the toes, plus formed a "numb band" around my ankle, approx. three inches in vertical height. This condition causes me to walk on "numbness"; occasionally fall (I sprained my ankle recently without knowing it until I noticed the swelling); and consistant swelling. Will this condition go away in the future, or do I need treatment such as medication or therapy? I am 67 years of age and am in good health.
