Calcaneal= heel bone bursitis= inflammation of the either naturally occurring bursa or adventitious one The shape of the back of the heel, the shoes and activity you do and tightness of the achillies tendon all play a role. The treatment of both achillies tendonits and a retrocaklcaneal bursitis can overlap. Sometimes in severe cases, surgery is indicated. I am not sure pressing on this is a great idea, but I haven't examined you. Was this diagnosed with a MRI or sonogram?
