Generally, I would think it very unusual to put an implant in a 35 year old. There are always exceptions and since I have not seen your foot I can not comment on your particular situation. At this point, removing the implant and fusing the joint would be the most likely surgical choice. You might need to wear sandals or clogs (especially with a rocker bottom) to accomodate your foot for now. You need to discuss your options with the other podiatrist.
