Hi Walt,

I too had what was termed a severe ankle sprain (I had complete rupture of the ATFL and CFL and a slight tear in the other one). This happenend in August 05, I had arthoscopic surgery at the end of Nov. it was called an ankle synovectomy. Still to this day I have pain, limited ROM and swelling, my orhto said to expect the ROM not to get any better (after alot of PT I kind of hit a wall with ROM) and the swelling might or might not get any better..
I would recommend going back if you are still unsure of how you are healing, it cannot hurt to have it checked again!
