Pain in upper ball of foot and sharp pain in toe

When it step on my foot I get a sharp pain, a tingle, sort of numbness, almost like a nerve that travels into my toe closest to my small toe. Pain makes it impossible to walk barefoot. Any idea's? I do have high arches and wonder if this is a result of that
