hi I was just recently diagnosed with an avulsion fracture of the cuboid bone too. Also from playing basketball. I inverted my ankle and thought I had just badly sprained it, but it turned out to be a fractured bone. Is this what you did? I went to the orthopedist and he said to treat it like a sprain- no cast or any other special treatment. After 2 weeks, I am still using crutches to get around. It is really painful, and not just when I put pressure on it or move it. Sometimes I will just get shooting pain that comes and goes. Did this happen to you too? If this is the same injury you had, I am curious to know if you had any of these problems and how your recovery went. Hope you figure out whats going on and get better soon. Thanks -Dan
